Policies.
The short version: every poster is made to order, shipped free in the US, and reprinted once if it arrives damaged. Your activity data is only used to make your poster.

Shipping
- Where we ship. United States only, for now.
- Cost. Shipping is free on every US order.
- How it's made. Each poster is printed to order by our print partner on heavyweight matte fine-art paper and shipped rolled in a rigid tube.
- How long it takes. Printed and delivered in 3–7 business days.
- Tracking. You'll get an email with a tracking link as soon as your poster ships.
- Your address. We ship to the address you enter at checkout, so please check it before you pay.
Returns, reprints & refunds
Every poster is custom-made from your activity, so we can't take returns or give refunds if you change your mind. If something goes wrong on our side, we'll make it right.
- Damaged, misprinted or defective. Email a photo of the print within 14 days of delivery and we'll send you a one-time free reprint.
- Lost in the mail. If tracking doesn't show your poster delivered within 7 days after its expected delivery date, email us and we'll send a free reprint.
- Digital files. Files are delivered by email right after payment, so they can't be refunded once sent. If your file is faulty, email us and we'll fix it or refund you.
- If we can't fix it. If we can't reprint or deliver your order, we'll refund you in full to your original payment method.
Not covered:
- Spelling, names, stats or other details you entered. You see and approve the preview before you pay.
- An incorrect address entered at checkout.
- Small color differences between your screen and printed paper, which are normal.
Cancellations
Your poster goes to print shortly after you pay, so orders can't be cancelled or changed once payment goes through. Please check the preview, your details and your shipping address before checking out.
Privacy
Making your poster
- Your poster is drawn in your own browser. GPX files you upload are read on your device and never leave it unless you order a print or a file.
- To draw the terrain, your browser downloads public elevation map tiles for the area around your route from Amazon Web Services' open terrain dataset. Those requests include the map area, not your activity data.
If you connect Strava
- Poster Maps asks for read-only access to your activities. We use it to show your first name and a list of your recent activities (name, type, date and distance), and to load the activity you pick: its GPS route, elevation, timing, distance, moving time and elevation gain.
- That data is used for one thing: drawing your poster. We never write to your Strava account, and we only see activities for the athlete who connected.
- Your Strava sign-in token is kept in your browser only until you close the tab, and expires on its own after about six hours. Our server functions pass your requests to Strava and back without saving activity data.
- Disconnect anytime: tap Disconnect above your activity list, or in Strava go to Settings → My Apps and choose Revoke Access next to Poster Maps.
When you order a print or a file
- We collect your name, email address, your finished poster design and, for prints, your shipping address.
- We keep your poster design and its print file for 60 days so it can be printed and, if needed, reprinted. Then we delete them. Your design includes your route and its coordinates.
- We keep a record of each order (name, email, poster size, date and order number) for our business and tax records.
- Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
Who we share it with
Only the services needed to make and deliver your poster, and only what each one needs:
- Prodigi, our print partner: your name, shipping address, email and print file, to print and ship your order.
- Stripe: payment and billing details, to process your payment.
- Resend: your email address, to send your order emails.
- Netlify: hosts this site and stores order files.
- We don't sell your data, and we never pass it to third-party AI tools.
- We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages people use. It doesn't use cookies or track you across other websites.
Emails
- We email you about your order: confirmation, shipping and any problems.
- After delivery we may ask once if you'd like to share a photo of your poster. We won't add you to a marketing list unless you ask to join.
Your poster and photos
- We never post your poster, your route or your photos publicly without your permission.
Your choices
- Email us to see the information we hold about you or to ask us to delete it.
- Poster Maps isn't directed at children under 13.
Terms
- Who we are. Poster Maps is run by Jake Libutti, a sole proprietor based in Newport, Rhode Island.
- What you're buying. A poster printed to order, or a print-ready digital file, made from the design you create on this site.
- Digital files and free downloads. Files and free Instagram downloads are for personal use. Print them for yourself or as a gift, but please don't resell them.
- Prices. All prices are in US dollars and include free US shipping. Sales tax, where it applies, is calculated and added at checkout based on your address.
- Your content. By ordering, you confirm you have the right to use the activity, names and text on your poster. We may decline and fully refund orders with content that's hateful, infringing or unlawful.
- Stats and maps. Stats are calculated from your GPS data and may differ slightly from official results. You can edit them before ordering. Maps are artistic, not for navigation.
- Offers. The terms of any discount or promotion are stated with that offer.
- Liability. To the extent the law allows, our responsibility for any order is limited to the amount you paid for it.
- Strava. Poster Maps is compatible with Strava but is not affiliated with or endorsed by Strava.
- Changes. We may update these policies. The date at the top shows the latest version, and the version in place when you ordered applies to your order.
